NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF WOOD

LUSINE wishes to draw your attention to the natural characteristics of wood. Wood is exposed to different climatic conditions, depending on the geographic regions where it grows. The color and density of the wood will therefore be affected by these temperature variations and surrounding conditions. Wood being a natural, living material and adapting to its environment, contractions, expansions or variations can occur. These characteristics are normal and natural for all solid wood. A drying process unique to this product is carried out to minimize movement of the wood fibers. Following purchase, exposure to different levels of humidity and temperature changes could, however, lead to alterations which are an integral part of each good.

That said, we will act with common sense if a significant crack appears within the warranty period. These situations will however be exceptional, considering the drying and acclimatization process that we carry out before making our tables.

Please note that LUSINE is in no way responsible for differences or variations in color and wood grain on its products. As a result, they could under no circumstances justify the replacement of a product.

The Buyer benefits from a twelve (12) month warranty following the date of purchase covering assembly defects.

ARRANGEMENT OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS OF THE SAME WOOD SPECIES

Various materials exist in the same species (boards, slices, veneer, etc.). Depending on the origin of the wood and its cut, the results will vary. Even if they are chosen from the same species, the different materials have nuances in grain and color.

CORRIDATIONS, WIDTH OF PLATES, CRACKS

The waves present on this product are natural and are never produced according to a template. They will always be different from one set to another. We select each of the trays carefully so that the undulations are as aesthetic as the demonstrators presented in store. Thus, we ensure that the width of the trays always remains a minimum of 35'' wide and a maximum of 40''. If necessary, we will slightly adjust the natural undulations of the tabletop. This intervention will not be noticed.

All the small cracks present in the wood are then filled with epoxy to prevent them from getting worse. Cracks and holes are reinforced with butterflies. If the wood slice has a damaged section, this section will be removed and replaced with one or more butterfly(s).

The slices will always have undulations on the sides.

The edges will very often have cracks and/or holes stabilized by butterflies.

BOARD THICKNESS

The thickness of the top of this product is always approximately 2.5'' but may vary slightly. Note that following sandblasting, the trays lose a certain thickness. The loss of thickness can be quantified up to ⅜ of an inch.

If the customer does not choose their chairs from the selection offered by LUSINE, it is suggested to mention their dimensions to their advisor. This information can influence the thickness of the board and the positioning of the legs.

FINISHING

Due to their composition, certain woods absorb finishing coats differently. In the first days of receiving the furniture, the smell of the finishing product may be slightly more persistent. The odor, if present, will disappear quickly.

UNDER THE TRAY

Some boards may be imperfect under the tabletop, but this will not compromise the quality and solidity of the table. Note that the underside of the trays is sometimes perforated or ribbed. This helps control wood expansion and is completely normal. If your table is visible from below, it will be important to mention this when purchasing. In this case, if modifications are requested, additional fees will be required.
